Tone Specific THC Virgil Arlo Black Label 2023
This is a new unused set.... NOT even taken out of box. Pics are from tone specific! So brand new unopened set, and pics may Not be exact pickups, but you will get same THC Arlo Black Humvuckers with Alnico 2 magnets!!! Very rare!! I might have to open and make sure all good. Then I can bitch to tone specific in ultra rare event they sent bad pickups out... but I don't think that happens too often or at all with this company.
Selling due to wife having a stroke and needing cash for everything... So you can consider this a donation for our fundraising to get money for my wife and her continued recovery, and updating our home with ramps and such. Will be a long and costly road, all help is appreciated.. Still not sure lasting effects. 2.5 months after and still can't talk more than a few words or move a lot of her right side of body.... So please buy these pickups!!!
I have not used these specific pickups, although I have 4 guitars now with tone specific arlo pickups, and just amazing. Like I never thought much about tone before, because my equipment didn't have any possibility to even make it.!!.??!! You can't not, not make tone with these pickups!!..!!!! Triple negative makes a positive, right? Truly are greatest pickups I have used. Although I have not used a bunch besides stock pickups, and so I put some reviews below to support this.. but come on seems like you either love or hate this company.... I also have a love/hate relationship.. but I will deal cause I love these pickups sooo much. So responsive and articulate even in cheap bodies!!!
Thanks for looking!!
Pictures are one of my favorite pictures of my mans best friend, Kiki, and how I look some Saturday nights…
Okay now the facts from the maker....
$1200 was the retail price for these Black Label pickups & they typically sell for more on the secondary market.
Over the years Virgil Arlo offered one-off service to select pro players. Most times the player was trying to replace a lost guitar from the past or replicate the tone of one of his preferred vintage guitars in a more modern guitar for touring purposes. A popular Virgil Arlo one-offs was the "THC" design.
Tom Holmes is a legendary pickup winder that recently retired. Prior to his retirement he had a few medical issues that caused him to pause new orders and/or increased lag time. During these unfortunate events, many players would request the Tom Holmes design from Virgil Arlo. Even though Mr. Arlo preferred making his own design, he was always happy to help. Players were always blown away to find that the THC Clones delivered the exact tone and feel of the Tom Holmes design.
2019 was the last year winding for Virgil Arlo. Starting in 2022 we reached an agreement to produce the Virgil Arlo Black Label Reissues
